There are various ethical guidelines that exist within the field of practice, professional associations, and organizations, and it is the responsibility of HR professionals to be familiar with these and to also create new ones appropriate for their organization, when necessary.
In addition, you will examine theories, models, concepts, and philosophies related to ethics. In general, these suggest how or why a person thinks, acts, and makes decisions based on their moral beliefs. Cognitive Moral Development Theory, Utilitarianism, Categorical Imperative, and the Defining Issues Test are just a few areas you will examine that consider a person’s moral development. As you explore each of these and conduct your own research over the next two weeks, consider how they can be applied to a global workplace environment.
