Film Analysis
Choose one of the following questions, and compose a headed, titled, double-spaced essay with Work Cited or Works Cited. The essay should include an introduction with thesis, body paragraphs with film evidence, and a conclusion. The film is the primary source, but other secondary sources from videos, reviews, and or other articles may be use as well to enhance the analysis. Tread carefully though as the essay is yours and not a secondary sources.
The essay should be at least 900-1,2000 words long. Use third pronouns and person point of view, and refer to the film with present tense verbs. Write out all contractions.

1. Do the interview inclusions enhance or distract from the plot, character development, theme, and tone of the film I, Tonya? Why? Use specific instances from the film to support your thesis statement. You do not have to discuss every part of the question in your essay answer. If you think you can take on one area like plot, do so. However, if you want to discuss more, add three areas like character development, theme, and tone.
2. Allison Janney, the actress who played Tonya’s mother, LaVona Golden, won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Why was her performance worthy of an Oscar, an Academy Award? Explain by using scenes from the film or other talents Janney brings to the role of LaVona Golden to support your thesis statement.

4. Discuss Bong Joon-ho’s use symbolism in Parasite.
5. Discuss imagery in Parasite. What images do Bong Joon-ho reveal that make the film exceptionally memorable?
