In this creative project, you will graphically design your own religious icon/symbol representing your own philosophical/religious worldview (theistic, atheistic, or other). In other words, you are creating a symbol which expresses your own personal religious and philosophical perspective on life and meaning. You could draw on ideas about creation/the origins of the cosmos, life after death, the existence of evil, or any other philosophical or religious issues.
You are not to use any traditional symbol or representation, but must create your own original design (i.e., you cannot use a Cross to represent Christianity, or an ‘Om’ to represent Hinduism, or the raised hand to represent Buddhism or Jainism, etc.). Included with your graphic design, you will provide a detailed description of what your image represents (minimum of three paragraphs – one full page, approx. 700 words — but no more than two pages in length).
