Sally’s Complaint
Sally is a new employee at the Politically Correct Co. She has started to spend more time with co-workers during her breaks since she has gotten to know them better but is feeling uncomfortable with the group’s sexual jokes and derogatory comments about women. The co-workers, made up of both men and women, are used to making such remarks and do not seem to notice how their remarks offend Sally. Based upon the above facts, please answer the following questions: 1. Identify important elements that you would look for and consider if you were assigned to investigate Sally’s complaint. Is there any information that you would want to know that is not contained in the above factual scenario? 2. Based upon your present knowledge of sexual harassment law, do you think Sally would prevail in court if she filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against the company? Why or Why not? 3. Assume that you are Sally’s supervisor and that she has come to you to advise that she is uncomfortable with the current situation.
